It's actually been a few months since I had a dragonfly post
and I have lots of new ones to share. All of these
are made using raised patterns.
For the fleur de lis dragonfly I used the same process
as the textured medallion dragonflies I've made in the past
to create the pattern and I really like how it turned out.
I used a door latch for the eyes...
and added a piece of vintage tin on the triangle shaped body.
This dragonfly was actually shipped to Norway!
This was a special order for a textured peacock feather design.

I've made on dragonflies and butterflies.
I combined two different spindles and a finial for the body
I love working with the textured designs.
I make another textured design, this time using a
medallion type stencil
Metal handle on the body...
This one sold pretty quick and I had a request for one just like it...
This was the second one.
This design had another medallion type pattern...
I painted in a verdigris look with copper on the medallions.
For the sea shell dragonfly, I used the texture
compound to embed mixed seashells.
I had made a shell wing dragonfly once before using scallop shells.
He's safe for outdoor use too
I drilled holes in shells to use for the eyes too.
Thanks for checking out my textured dragonflies!
Swing by my Etsy Shop to see what's new or
new site called CustomMade.
It's a pretty neat concept, you don't necessarily list items for sale but instead post
your portfolio so people searching for custom items can see examples of your
work and commission you to create what they are looking for.
There are lots of talented craftsmen and artists on there,
you should pop over and have a look.
I just got my first order from there, so I'm excited about it :)
