I've had quite a few random projects in the blog post queue to share
and decided to combine them in one post. Get ready...lots of pics!
Giant Painted Veggies
First up are these giant hand painted veggie chargers.
They are huge, about 18" diameter.
I found the metal plates at a thrift store and repainted them.
I chose 3 of my fave fruits and veggies for the designs...
and artichokes. Yum!
These aren't for sale, I actually painted them for one of my sisters
but I would like to find more and paint some for myself!
Doggy Dining Table
Next, I had an order for a custom doggy dining table from my Custommade site.
If you haven't heard of this site, check it out. It is a whole
registry of artists and artisans that can make anything you dream up.
You submit your project idea and the "makers" bid on creating your item.
Alternately you can browse projects and contact one of the artists directly.
It's a pretty cool concept and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
This is the customers sweet little dog and the doggy table that she
wanted duplicated, or something similar, in the background.
And burnished metal look feet.
I used to make these doggy dining tables a lot in the past
but this was back in the day before digital cameras.
This pic shows a few of them.
Hand Painted Wooden Hearts
At Christmas, a customer contacted me needing a couple of
hand painted wooden hearts for a collage she was working
on for a gift.
She had seen my hand painted Valentine Hearts I had made but
needed a 4" size in specific colors.
They are painted on the sides in stripes...
One is leopard with Pink Crown...
And the other, a pink and cream check.
Hand Painted Apron
If you are a frequent reader of this blog, you know I love
painting on fabric. Type "fabric painting" in the search box
to see lots of examples!
I needed a gift for my Mom and created this hand painted apron
for her. She loves flowers and yellow is a favorite color.
I used a plain canvas apron and painted free form flowers
with metallic gold vines and leaves and deep red checks on the edges.
It turned out pretty cute and she loved it :)
A funky little sign painted on a recycled drawer front...
Hand painted lettering...
Repurposed piece from a wooden chair at the top...
Wire, glass, beads and little Peking opera mask faces...
Recycling at its finest! ;)
This piece is sold.
Hand Painted Peacock Feather Wine Glasses
I showed you in another post how to create your own painted
wine glasses but if you aren't up for that, visit my Etsy store
to purchase a set of Peacock Wine Glasses.
Gorgeous greens, teals, blues and touches of metallic gold.
They look beautiful from every angle.
Even water tastes better from a pretty glass!
Faux Mercury Glass
If you follow me on Facebook, you may have already seen this pic.
A few posts ago I shared that I recently remarried :).
We combined household furnishings and gave, or sold, a lot of what
we had to start fresh, yay! But, there is that fine line (for me anyway) of
a "not cluttered" look and .... uh... we have nothing decorative at all.
We got a new to us (thanks Craigslist) entertainment center and it was
completely blank and empty so I dug these glass jars out of the
box that was headed to Goodwill and decided to try the
faux mercury glass technique that you've all seen on Pinterest
I already had the Krylon looking glass paint on hand so I grabbed my
paint respirator... I always use one when spray painting... and the
water bottle I use to break up "step sister kitties, who don't want to be step sisters" cat fights.
It literally took like 10 minutes. I lightly misted the inside of
the glass pieces with water then immediately sprayed the
looking glass paint. I did a couple of coats on all. Done.
They have that nice mottled mercury glass look
I like how they turned out!
They might not live in that spot forever but it filled the
space in the meantime and... it was free. :)
Thanks for taking the time to check out all these random projects!
and I'm always adding new items so pop over to
my Etsy shop and see what's new
